I partnered with a fantastic local dyer in my hometown to bring you something truly special! Marci Blank of Th’red Head Designs custom dyed the Dementor’s Kiss colorway for me on her glorious, slightly shimmery, merino wool & bamboo sock yarn. If you’ve never knitted with a bamboo blend sock yarn before, you are in for a real treat! The sock pattern is the latest design from The Sexy Knitter, available exclusively as part of this kit! The sock is worked from the top down, with an interesting cable and eye of partridge heel flap. Both written instructions and a chart are provided for the patterning down the front of the foot, while a single cable runs down the back of the ribbed leg. This sock is quite stretchy due to all the ribbing, and will accommodate most adult feet. You will need to know how to cast on, work in the round, knit, purl, and perform basic cables (there are explained in the pattern). Kitchener stitch ends the toe.
In this kit, you will receive:
• 1 skein of Th’Red Head Mini Boomer (65% superwash merino, 35% bamboo), approximately 370 yards
• 3-page, full color printed pattern in a plastic page protector • 2 black crystal stitch markers (needed for the pattern)
• 1 each Dementor and Stag Patronus progress keepers!
The finished socks shown in the photos are for reference only; they are not included with your purchase.
You will need:
* US 1 1/2/2.5 mm 24inch circular needle OR set of double points (or whatever size needle gets you gauge, in whatever length or method you prefer for working socks in the round)
* Scissors
* Blunt Needle
The gauge is:
32sts/40 rows = 4 inches in stockinette, measured after being lightly steam blocked
